Kennie KitchensDiscipleship/Missions Pastor

Kennie and his wife Lizzy have been married 8 years. They have two little girls: Ezra and Ruby. Kennie has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Mississippi. The desire of Kennie and Lizzy’s heart is to follow Jesus and to teach others how to follow Him by living out the Great Commission. They have been in serving together for 8 years now as the Spirit has led them to Oxford, Kenya, Memphis and now to Center Point Baptist Church. Both Kennie and Lizzy have served overseas in various capacities for the past 10 years. They lived in Kenya for two years where they were missionary-teachers. Kennie was most recently an educator in Desoto County Mississippi where he taught High School and Coached Cross Country and Soccer. While teaching, he was able to pastor a church that met in his home and minister to and disciple kids in the public-school system while working alongside FCA. Kennie has been the Discipleship/Missions Pastor at Center Point Baptist Church since 2018.

Kennie and Lizzy believe that missions, discipleship and church should be lived out biblically through the EXAMPLE of Jesus and His disciples. They were called to follow Jesus and to help others do the same by investing in and equipping them to follow Him by becoming living examples. 1 Corinthians 11:1 “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ” and 1 Thessalonians 1:6-8 6And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.”
